UAMS
Valet Solutions parks patients' cars with a smile, helps disabled customers out of their vehicles, and offers friendly assistance to all patients and guests at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). With its sprawling campus spanning seven square blocks, UAMS is the 11th largest hospital in the nation. As such, valet parking is a critical component to quality patient care.
Since 2006, Valet Solutions (now under the new hospital-focused hospitalit name Ambassadors Plus) has provided quality valet, transportation, information center and/or greeter staff services to various facilities on the UAMS campus - including the Outpatient Center, Jackson T. Stephens Spine Center and Neuroscience Institute, Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, Jones Eye Institute and Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. In its first year at UAMS, Valet Solutions outpaced the competitor that had parked patient cars for 10 years, growing valet numbers 47%.
In January 2009, Valet Solutions was awarded the contract for valet parking service at the UAMS main hospital entrance, expanding its presence on the campus.
"The retrieval time is quick," UAMS Outpatient Center Financial Manager Deanna Stiles said. "The valets run a block and a half to get cars so our patients wait no more than three minutes. They just have great customer service skills with our patients, many of whom are sick or in pain."
Perhaps the best gauge of success is the feedback received from patients:
